Harar is the 4th holy muslim city with more than 100 mosques and the city where wild hyena is a friend for a man. The harari cultural houses and the harmonious interaction of the people are fine refreshing.
Day 01: Addis–Gonder (flight) then drive to Semien mountains national park. O/n hotel.
Day 02: S.M.N.P. o/n hotel
Day 03: S.M.N.P-Gonder. In the afternoon visit the enclosure compound at Gonder.o/n hotel
Day 4: Gonder-Addis (flight) then take the afternoon flight to dire dawa. In the late afternoon have social interaction at Dire Dawa.o/n hotel
Day 5: drive from Dire Dawa to harar (50 km). On the way visit chat/khat plantation which is the main source of income to the local people. Up on arrival at Harar, check in to the hotel. After lunch, have city tour in the old city of harar and enjoy the business activities of individuals and visit tipical harari house inside the walled city. In the evening visit the hyena feeding event which is practiced everyday. o/n hotel.
Day 6: Harar- awash, admire the scenery of rift valley and wild life at Awash.o/n lodge
Day 7: awash –shashemene. On the way take a break at Ziway to spot birds. o/n hotel
Day 8: shashemene –arba minch. On the way visit the welayta people and dorze village at chencha. The dorze people are famous by their weaving culture, elephant ear shaped house and we will see the preparation of a bread kocho from false banana tree.
Day 9: Arba minch- Turmi. On the way visit key Afer market where we can see Ari, Tsemay and Benna. In the evening visit the hamer village. o/n hotel or camping.
Day 10:Turmi, in the morning drive to yangathom. If there is a bull jumping ceremony at hamer join in the afternoon. If not stay a night with yangathom tribe.o/n hotel or camping.
Day 11:turmi- Jinka. In the morning visithe dassanech tribe and drive to Jinka.o/n hotel or camping
Day 12: jinka-konso. In the morning drive to Mursi tribe who share most things with SURI people. And then drive back to Konso.o/n hotel
Day 13: konso-arba minch. In the morning visit the stone fenced compound of Konso village including the kings compound and grave marker of Konso king.then drive to Arbaminch. In the after have a boat trip on lake chamo to greet my best friend crocodile, hippos and aquatic birds. o/n hotel
Day 14: arbaminch –addis. On the way visit the guraghe village and tiya stele.o/n hotel
