Drive from Addis Ababa to the crater lake of Zengena. On the way visit the 14th century monastery of Debre Libanos which was once the political center of Ethiopia. Then continue driving to the breath taking gorge of Blue Nile which most tourists compare with the grand canyon of USA. After lunch at Debre Markos, continue driving. O/n Zengena camping.
In the morning have a short walk around the lake which offers a good view and drive.on the way stop at chagni to visit Dondor waterfall. Then continue to Benishangul regional state.
Benishangul regional state is untouched region in Ethiopia regarding tourist sites. There are five indigenous tribes in this region, Berta, Shinasha, Gumuz, Mao and Komo. All those are identified one to the other by their costumes, traditions and cultures. After 40 km from Chagni, detour to the left for a visit the small but interesting Sunday market of Dohans Baguna where one can see the Gumuz and Agaw tribes exchange their goods and cereals. Lunch will be picnic .After the market visit the Gumuz village which is built by women. (In Gumuz tribe women are responsible for all activities.) O/n camping.
After breakfast drive to Assosa which is the capital to the region. On the way visit the ruined palace of mehamed banjaw at Guba which were built by the Sudanese engineer and imitated the Gonderian style. It is a big compound including his wives tukuls inside.
Continue driving to Assosa across Blue Nile River for the second time. O/n hotel.
In the morning drive to the small town called Menge to visit the traditional gold extraction by Berta tribes. And then visit rain making stone called bellbembesh.it is a spiritual ceremonial place to stop or to have rain.
After taking the picnic lunch, drive to Ethio-Sudanese border to visit the couple of mountains that the local people believe as female and male mountains .they believe too it is Gold Mountain. Visit the border of the two countries. Sometimes it is allowed to cross and visit the Sudanese village. O/n the same hotel
After breakfast drive to Ganzo. On the way visit the colorful Wednesday market of bambasi where we can see Berta Oromo and Amhara people live in the surrounding. Drive to Ganzo. After lunch visit Ganzo village and late afternoon visit the small and beautiful market of Ganzo, Berta, Mao and Komo people. O/n camping
In the morning visit the mosque in same place which was built by Nigerian sheik around 1942 and the wise use water for electricity, Mill and sanitation. Then drive to Koshimando cattle market. On this market only ox, cow, sheep and goat are being sold.
Come back to Assosa and visit the cultural museum of Assosa and judicial court of sheik shegole. O/n hotel.
On the way visit Oromo village and up on arrival at Nekemte visit the palace of which many collections reflect the oromo culture. o/ n hotel.
On this day we will drive to Jimma via Bedele through wild coffee plantation and stop on the way for a market. At Jimma visit Abba Jifar museum o/n hotel
Drive to Mizan via Wushwush tea plantation, the largest tea plantation in Ethiopia .visit also the kaffa village.o/n hotel
On this day we will visit one of the residence of the surma or suri tribe who mostly share the same culture with mursi but extremely natural culture, Like donga, lip plate and blood feeding. o/n camping
After breakfast trek to kibish which is the second settlement to the people .visit the village.o/n camping.
Drive to Tum to visit the Dizi tribe and Amhara people migrated 30 years ago .o/n camping drive back to Bonga. Visit barta waterfall near the town. O/n hotel
Drive to the most recent national park in Ethiopia and unusual tourist destination but rich of wild life .for that one can see easily African elephants and buffalo .and the scenery of the road is marvelous. Safari tour in the afternoon. o /n camping
After an early safari tour in the morning, drive to Addis. Up on arrival in Addis, have a complimentary dinner in a cultural restaurant with a live music and dance. Then departure.
